Trevor ‘Rove’ Jameus
Calgary native Trevor “Rove” Jameus has been creating art his whole life, starting out as a young boy with a keen interest in comic style illustration. At the drawing desk is where he spent most of his days, trying to perfect his artistic skills. Eventually, it led him into the comic book world where he had the opportunity to illustrate a number of comic books and became a staple at the Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo. Throughout the years Trevor honed his skills in a number of art forms and became a “jack of all trades” artist, creating amazing works of art in pencil, ink, watercolor, oil and digital. Somewhere along the road, a friend suggested tattooing. After some thought, Trevor started an apprenticeship and quickly realized he had discovered an art form that rivaled his love for illustration. Finding a medium that combined his skills, love of art and heart for people made tattooing an easy career choice. Trevor has been tattooing for over 14 years now and is a recognizable name in the tattoo industry.
Outside of tattooing, you can find Trevor living his life as husband to Melody, dog dad to Loki, Lead Pastor of Via Calgary Church, ordained Deacon to Via Apostolica and Masters program student at Trinity U. If the seemingly unorthodox combination of a tattoo artist and pastor takes you aback, you’re not alone! Common reactions include “Huh? You’re a tattoo artist AND a pastor?!”, “How does this even happen??” and “I don’t understand this….like, at all”. If you’re curious, a quick google search will pull up a number of articles where you can read about Trevor’s unique story. At the end of the day, Trevor is just really passionate about Jesus, people and community!
